The Corporate Headquarters are located in Grantsville, MD with several offices throughout the country.
Pillar Innovations is now accepting applications for a full-time Electrical Engineer I.
As an Electrical Engineer I, the general role is to be a liaison between the Project Manager and the technical disciplines involved in a project.
The Electrical Engineer I may also be the primary point of contact for the customer.
This individual will have the ability to represent Pillar Innovations out in the field, assist in the interpretation of job designs, ensure the jobs are constructed according to the project plans and assist with project controls to include budgeting, planning/scheduling, designing, and programming.
The Electrical Engineer I will report to the Sr.
Electrical Engineer and will work primarily out of the Grantsville location.
This position will require a flexible schedule that includes extended hours, weekends, holidays and evenings.

Develop electrical and control system design solutions based on engineering principles
Provide technical support and on-site troubleshooting and repair for customers
Ensure all relevant safety objectives are observed for all work completed
Support sales team in pre-sales technical concept and budgeting activities when required
Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget
Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, and motor controls
Create and finalize designs to meet project requirements
Create and edit CAD drawings to include but not limited to:
electrical ladder diagrams, control panel layout drawings, system P&IDs, wiring diagrams
Create accurate BOMs (Bill of Materials)
Define equipment and parts from external suppliers
Conduct cost and time estimation
Electrical, software design of customized solutions including manufacturing automation and safety systems
Able to maintain project scope and identify project creep
Support the manufacture, build and validation of systems which include pneumatics, servos, VFDs, relays, communication networks, touchscreens, pushbuttons and robotic integration
Create customer documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, network diagrams, and electrical drawings
Ability to architect programs that are simple to test, well documented and versatile
Maintain accurate records and files according to quality standards
Commission customized products and systems onsite at customer facilities
Modifies systems upon customers request and documents the amendments accordingly
Provide high quality pre-sales, design-in and post-sales technical support to customer
Must be a citizen of the United States with a valid drivers license
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with vision systems or robotics is a plus
Proficient with MS Office productivity software
Proficient with reading and creating CAD drawings using AutoCAD Electrical
Strong working knowledge with Allen Bradley PLCs and RSLogix 5000, 500
Working experience and knowledge with Omron, Mitsubishi, and/or Siemens PLCs
HMI Development experience with Rockwell and/or Wonderware
Strong fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design and its application in automated industrial designs including specification of vision, power, sensor, inspection, and communications systems
Experience and knowledge of three phase power distribution
Efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals
Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments
Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment
Ability to balance multiple projects
Good understanding of mechanical principals is a plus
Travel as required (30% at times) to support projects not typical to be out of town for more than 1-2 weeks at a time
Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations.
Ability to meet deadlines.

Required to wear safety equipment:
as per OSHA/MSHA requirements including but not limited steel toed and/or metatarsal shoes, hard hat, lanyard, fire retardant, protective eye wear, etc.

This position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
